first of the season

10th August 2017, Embleton Bay, 5am

The sunrise is now around 5:30 am which (in my world) is late enough to get up for.  So I rolled out of bed at 5am, looked out the window and decided to head down to the beach.

There was plenty of colour in the sky already when we got there.

Soon enough the sun appeared still well North of East.

A local fishing boat was nicely silhouetted against the disc of the sun

Meanwhile up in the dunes the sunlight beautifully illuminated this harebell in its coat of morning dew.
